This is an opportunity to aquire a unique piece of history. We have been fortunate enough to purchase a range a colonial four poster beds. This style of bed dates from 1840 and was made up until 1947. The beds were constructed for the british Raj and their families. They were made from the finest wood usually mahogonay, teak or sissoo wood (a member of the rose wood family).

The beds were made to flat pack so could be transported on military exercices and to their summer houses in the hills. They were made when the Raj was at it's height and sometimes denote the title or rank of the owner.

This is an elegant double tier Regency ebonized Colonial Four Poster Bed with detachable foot board. The head board has a moulded central rail raised above an open panel of reeded trellis work. The foot board is composed of a similar grid of bars. The tapering reeded posts support the canopy on turned pegs. Overall, this is an extremely handsome and unique Colonial Four Poster Bed. This Colonial Four Poster Bed is constructed of Sisoo wood (a member of the Rosewood family).

This is a lovely looking Carved Mahogany Colonial Four Poster Day Bed. This bed features a drop down cornice which sits on top of four tapering straight posts. The side rails are enriched with trailing flowers. The bed is supported by four splayed padded feet. The bed displays a deep rich brown colour. This bed is constructed of Sisoo wood (a member of the Rosewood family).

A solid Oak Reproduction four poster bed, the tester composed of several panels in a carved frame; each panel carved and floral demi-lunes contained in thumb moulded lozenges enriched with punch work. The canopy rails carved with an interlinked lunette design; the design echoed on the projecting top rail of the head board above a protruding canopy and nine intricatly carved panels. This piece would be accentuated with style, romance and tradition. An heirloom this certainly would be, allowing future generations to enjoy its everlasting quality and beauty.

This is top quality Burmese Teak Colonial Four Poster Bed of very large proportions. The bed consists of a shaped cornice which is supported by four barley twist posts which terminate in four carved angels. All the sides of the bed are shaped with intricate carvings. The headboard consists of three carved shields interspersed with turned spindles. This supports rose bulbs surrounding a central motif. This item is truly a unique investment.
